NothingHere Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 30, 2026

No data collection

NothingHere does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to third-party servers. Everything the app records stays on your device. If you turn on iCloud, it also goes to your own private iCloud container.

iCloud sync

Where NothingHere offers iCloud sync, it uses Apple CloudKit to move data between your own devices. That data is encrypted and stored in your private CloudKit container, reachable only through your Apple ID. The developer has no access to it.

No advertising or tracking SDKs

NothingHere contains zero third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. There are no ads, no trackers, and no data brokers involved.

System permissions

NothingHere uses system permissions for the features you choose to use. Those permissions are not used for advertising or tracking. App-specific services and components are described below where applicable.

Your choices

You can revoke permissions in system Settings and use the app’s data controls to delete local records. If you enabled iCloud sync, removing the app does not by itself guarantee that its iCloud data is deleted. Review that data separately in your iCloud settings.

Children's privacy

NothingHere is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them. Since the app collects no personal data at all, there is nothing to collect from any user.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top.

Automatic updates

NothingHere uses the open-source Sparkle framework to check for and install updates from its GitHub Releases. Update checks require a network connection; this is separate from advertising or tracking.
